On 13 June 2006 Bridge Health.com reported:
A recent study presented at a conference in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, concluded that the practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique has a positive effect on students' well-being.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
The study consisted of two groups of students, all of whom were African American and were fifth graders attending the same middle school. Forty-four students total participated in the study and they were randomly divided into two groups. The article reported that one group learned Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique and continued to practise the TM Technique at school twice each day for 10 minutes.
During the time that the meditating students practised the TM Technique, 'the control group of students remained in their classrooms with their teachers and had assigned free time.'
The article reported that both groups of students 'completed self-report surveys that assessed emotional well-being, emotional intelligence, anxiety, and anger' at the start of the study, and again at three, nine, and after 15 months.
According to the article, 'Results of the analysis indicated that TM had an immediate positive effect on the students' well-being', and the effect was still positive after 15 months. The study also concluded that at this age, 'TM does not differentially affect academic semester grades.'
The study was presented in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at the First Global Integrative Medicine Conference In North America, May 25-27 2006.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
