Netherlands hosts Maharishi Gandharva Veda concert: 'An Afternoon with the Best of India'

On 21 July three acclaimed maestros of Indian classical music performed a beautiful concert hosted by MERU—Maharishi European Research University in the Netherlands.

Musicians

The musicians featured in the special Gandharva Veda concert, titled 'An Afternoon with the Best of India', were:

Kaushiki Chakrabarty, considered the finest Indian classical singer of her generation, and winner of the prestigious BBC World Music Award.

Joining her were Soumik Datta on Sarod, hailed by Vogue magazine as 'one of the biggest new musical talents in Britain'; and Vijay Ghate on Tabla, described as a 'maestro of percussion'.

The historic TheaterHotel Orangerie in Roermond was the venue for Sunday afternoon's MERU Concert.

The concert was webcast live by streaming video. The concert programme will also be archived and available for online viewing.
