25 December 2012
At the Fourth International Vastu Panorama conference in Bhopal, India, Dr Girish Chandra Varma was invited to chair the conference and speak about Maharishi Vastu architecture and buildings.
Dr Varma is Chairman of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools and, as such, has built hundreds of schools according to the design principles of Maharishi Vastu.*
At the Fourth Annual Vastu Panorama conference held in October 2012, there were about 400 delegates from all over India and around the world. The participants included architects, engineers, builders, medical doctors, professors of architecture and civil engineering, social workers, Vedic scholars, Vastu consultants, and more.
Dr Varma was invited to the conference because he is one of the most prolific Vastu builders in the world. He has built over 300 school buildings, all of them built exactly according to Vastu design.*
Dr Varma spoke for about one and a half hours. He talked about the unique characteristics of Maharishi Vastu design and about Maharishi Vedic Science as well.
He reported that many in the audience seemed fascinated and asked where they could learn more about this knowledge and about the technique of Transcendental Meditation.
One of the highlights of Dr Varma's presentation was a video prepared for the conference by Dr Eike Hartmann, a leading expert in Maharishi Vastu architecture.
In the video, Dr Hartmann outlined many of the unique characteristics of Vastu building, but also focused on a large, global vision to rework cities according to Vastu design.
'There is a great need for sustainable cities in the world,' Dr Hartmann said. 'In the next 50 years, 1.7 billion people will move into urban areas that do not yet exist. . . . It is critical for the sustainable future of our planet that we build these new city environments so that they function in accord with Natural Law.'
* Dr Varma is also Director-General of the Global Capital of World Peace at the geographical centre (Brahmasthan) of India.
