The David Lynch Foundation is hosting a special preview screening of 'Living in the Material World'—the new documentary on the life of George Harrison, directed by renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese—in Fairfield, Iowa, USA this weekend.
Mr Scorsese and Olivia Harrison are great friends and supporters of the David Lynch Foundation, and the screening is a gift from them to benefit the Foundation's programmes. The 3 1/2 hour film is scheduled to air on HBO in October.
The film includes a section about Transcendental Meditation and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who taught the technique to the Beatles.
Former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performed at the historic 2009 'Change Begins Within' benefit concert at Radio Music Hall in New York, supporting the David Lynch Foundation's initiative to bring Transcendental Meditation to one million at-risk school children around the world.
Fairfield, Iowa, is the home of Maharishi University of Management and the Invincible America Assembly, a large group of advanced Transcendental Meditation practitioners established to reduce negative trends including crime and violence, and create a positive influence of coherence and harmony in US national consciousness.
Another special preview screening for David Lynch Foundation supporters is being held in New York City on 30 September, according to TheDaily.com.
