Artist Daniel Edlen enjoys supporting the 'Download for Good' initiative of David Lynch Foundation Music because founder David Lynch 'is trying to make a positive difference in the world', teaching stress-reducing Transcendental Meditation to at-risk populations.

Mr Edlen knew about Transcendental Meditation well before the campaign began this winter—his grandmother, who is almost 100 years old, has practised the technique for several years, and it has helped her become less anxious and fearful.

'The idea that this foundation is helping a large number of people learn how to use this tool—and to get to help with that—is great,' he says.

The DLF Music initiative is raising support for the David Lynch Foundation's programmes by offering exclusive audio and video tracks donated by some of the world's top artists. Mr Edlen is donating his unique portraits of top musicians and singers, painted on vinyl record albums of their work.

'To be able to give back, to help' is important to Mr Edlen. 'I've tried to find musical charities that would connect with my work somehow, and this is an excellent combination of those ideas,' he says. 'I'm doing this for the David Lynch Foundation, because he says things like ''Download for Good''—because he's trying to help.'

He also enjoys the opportunity to 'give back to great artists who have given of themselves to the David Lynch Foundation, and show my gratitude to them for what they do. The idea that I could help with my art somehow, is really cool, and it's an honour to be asked to contribute to what David Lynch is doing with this music.'

'To get to do this is amazing, and—its David Lynch!'
