In Colombia and Brazil, initiatives are underway to bring Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes and technologies of consciousness to indigenous peoples, complementing their traditional values and enriching their communities.
In Colombia, a Consciousness-Based Education university is being established for the Kogi indigenous people. The university, as well as a centre for Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, will incorporate traditional Kogi values.
There is a strong spiritual inclination among the Kogi tribe, as well as a dedication to organic non-GMO agriculture, both of which will be complemented by these new institutions. The Kogi community will serve as a model for incorporating Maharishi's programmes within indigenous tribes throughout Latin America.
In Brazil, a special celebration will soon be held in the Amazon rainforest, during which indigenous peoples will practise Yogic Flying together in a large group. The event is aimed at encouraging the notion that traditional peoples can preserve their ancient values and languages, while at the same time helping to bring invincibility to their nation through group Yogic Flying in their communities. The celebration anticipates the construction of the first Amazonian Maharishi Peace Palace.
