On 7 October 2010 TheStar.com - Toronto Edition reported:
Among five people she admires, veteran actress Allegra Fulton highlights filmmaker David Lynch and the work of his Foundation--which has transformed the lives of young people and communities.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of culture.
'He's a great artist, but I'm also so impressed with the extraordinary work his foundation is doing teaching Transcendental Meditation to at-risk youths, transforming lives and creating peace in communities troubled by drugs, gangs and extreme poverty,' she tells The Star.
Ms Fulton has been acting since the age of three, and says that for as long as she can remember 'she wanted to be a performer'.
Her big break came with her starring role in 'the play Frida K, based on the life [of] famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo', the article reports.
'My mother [Gloria Montero] wrote it for me as a birthday present and it was probably the best birthday present an actor ever got,' she says in the article.
'Starting with a run at the Toronto Fringe in 1994, the show grew and grew, taking Fulton on a runaway, on-and-off journey around the world for the next 14 years,' the article reports, 'earning her unprecedented critical acclaim from New York to Madrid.'
'We're all born with such huge potential. Acting is just one way of realizing it,' Ms Fulton tells The Star.
