David Lynch on Transcendental Meditation
DailyMotion.com Translate This Article
25 April 2010
On 25 April 2010 DailyMotion.com reported:
In search of inner happiness, renowned filmmaker David Lynch learned the Transcendental Meditation Programme in 1973. He remains a proponent of the technique to this day.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of culture.
During a recent visit to France, Mr Lynch told interviewer David Servan Schreiber, MD, PhD, that he had never been interested in meditation until he was making his first feature film, Eraserhead. At that time, he realized that with everything he had in his life, he should have been 'the happiest person in the world', and yet he found himself devoid of inner happiness.
After hearing that 'true happiness lies within', he started researching various kinds of meditation.
It was his sister who inspired him to learn Transcendental Meditation. When she telephoned after beginning the practice herself, Mr Lynch said he 'heard a change in her voice: more happiness and more self-assuredness'. Now, Mr Lynch has been practising the technique every day for nearly 37 years.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation allows one to expand one's consciousness, experience 'an ocean of infinite intelligence, infinite creativity, infinite happiness', and live this reality more and more in daily life, Mr Lynch said.
