Employees at a major US corporation were recently inspired to learn the Transcendental Meditation Technique after seeing a live demonstration of brainwave activity during the practice.
The demonstration was included in a special introductory presentation during which Dr Fred Travis, Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management, explained how Transcendental Meditation increases coherence in brain functioning.
A highlight of the presentation was a live EEG brainwave demonstration with a young practitioner of Transcendental Meditation.
Many members of the audience said that when they saw the change in brainwave activity the moment the young person started meditating, it was very motivating. Many said that the presentation as a whole inspired them to learn the technique.
The presentation was part of a programme recently organized by the Center for Leadership Performance to offer Transcendental Meditation to this company's employees. Many have now learned and are enjoying profound and wide-ranging benefits, including improved creativity, reduced stress, and enhanced work-life balance.

Those who were interested in learning Transcendental Meditation first attended this special introductory presentation. Other speakers included Dr John Hagelin, renowned quantum physicist and Raja of Invincible America; and acclaimed filmmaker Dr David Lynch.
Raja Hagelin spoke about the scientific basis of Transcendental Meditation; Dr Lynch spoke about his own experience with Transcendental Meditation and about how it enhances the creative process.
