On 6 September 2017 Brennan Center for Justice reported: Researchers at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law project that the overall crime rate in 2017 is projected to decrease slightly, by 1.8 per cent. If this estimate holds, 2017 will have the second-lowest crime rate since 1990.
