Ecuador on track to become the safest country in Latin America

On 22 June 2015 teleSUR reported: Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa announced on his weekly television programme that several important indicators of crime had shown significant drops. Mr Correa announced a 25 per cent drop in the homicide rate for the period from January to April of this year as compared the same period last year. He also said the number of people killed in traffic accidents had dropped 20 per cent for the same period.
