Residents of six cities in different regions of France learned about the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme for the individual and society during a tour this spring.
In Paris, Narbonne, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, and Strasbourg, presentations were given about programmes for development of consciousness and improved brain functioning, natural health care, business success and productivity, and other areas, developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme. Highlighted in the presentations was scientific research documenting beneficial results in many areas.
Audiences included those who had already learned Transcendental Meditation, along with teachers of the technique in each locale; they were inspired to make use of all of Maharishi's programmes to accelerate their progress to the highest state of human development.
The number of people who learned Transcendental Meditation in France doubled from 2009 to 2010, and that trend is continuing in 2011. Advanced programmes for people who practise TM continue to be offered throughout France; earlier this year Transcendental Meditation teachers assembled for a course on teaching principles.
The tour of six cities in France took place approximately a year after celebrations in April 2010 marking the 50th anniversary of Maharishi's first arrival in France and continental Europe.
