Maharishi Vedic Architecture initiatives are expanding in locations throughout the United States.
In Maharishi Vedic City and Fairfield, Iowa—where Vastu construction is already prevalent—eight developers have pooled their resources to keep up with increasing demand.
Plans for a Maharishi Peace Colony* in Ohio are underway, with the first model home to be completed this autumn. There is also interest in establishing Peace Colonies in Florida and Texas.
People throughout the US who are looking for a Maharishi Sthapatya Veda home now have as a resource the website www.MaharishiVastu.org, where all Vastu residences that are either for sale or for rent can be listed.
Dr Jon Lipman, AIA, US architect and long-time expert in Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architecture, highlighted these initiatives during the graduation celebration of a recent course in Maharishi Vedic Architecture held in MERU, Holland.**
He commented on the wide-ranging practical knowledge offered in the course, including sustainable green building, which is growing in demand and recognition in countries around the world.
In the US, many Vastu buildings have received LEED platinum certification, he noted.
*Maharishi Peace Colony: A community founded to help create invincibility for a nation, based on the principles of Maharishi's Vedic Science and their practical applications for living perfection in all areas of life—featuring homes, businesses, schools, and buildings for group practice of Yogic Flying—all built according to Vedic Architecture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
