New initiatives arising in Sweden for creating national invincibility

Speaking on a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat, Raja Bruce Plaut, Raja of Invincible Sweden, Seychelles, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Swaziland, and Samoa for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on many new initiatives for the creation of invincibility in Sweden, including several launched during his recent four-day visit to Stockholm.

Raja Plaut described Stockholm as a beautiful city, built both on islands and the mainland, and his visit there as very full, fulfilling, and successful.

Directors of the Global Country in Stockholm are currently organizing an education conference similar to the one recently held in the United States, for introducing teachers and school principals to Consciousness-Based Education.

A new website for the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Sweden has been created—www.transcendental-meditation.se—designed by one of the Transcendental Meditation Teachers. There has been a marked increase in people learning Transcendental Meditation in the last five months, and more are coming to introductory lectures after visiting the new website. In addition, a new brochure will be available soon.

There is a centre for Transcendental Meditation in the southern part of Stockholm, and a new centre opened on 1 July, a beautiful facility with full plate glass windows looking out on the street. This centre provides the teaching of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, as well as offering the products of Maharishi Ayur-Veda, for the health and well-being of every individual and invincibility of the nation.

A large number of people attended a very inspiring meeting at this centre on the last night of Raja Plaut's visit. The programme included the playing of a DVD featuring Raja John Hagelin's address about the solutions offered by the Global Country of World Peace to the current world economic situation, along with the DVD of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's historic address on 11 January 2008. Raja Plaut also conducted a conference call with the Swedish Teachers of Transcendental Meditation.

Several luncheons were held with long-time leading practitioners of Transcendental Meditation who have been very successful in their own professions, to help in bringing Maharishi's knowledge and programmes to their area. One former member of parliament who has managed both businesses and charitable organizations is keen to assist the Swedish organization, as is a business professor at Stockholm University.
