On a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via satellite and over the Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel, Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion in the administration of Dr John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America*, reported on new initiatives of the Global Country of World Peace in the United States.

Please also see Part I of this article.

Dr Roth went on to describe the third major area of attention for Raja Hagelin and his team of national, regional, state, and local directors: creating coherence in America and making America invincible—'a problem-free, blissful nation'. To accomplish this they will focus on building up the numbers of Yogic Flyers participating in the Invincible America Assembly at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, and nearby Maharishi Vedic City.

They are continuing to work with the Dr Howard and Dr Alice Settle Foundation, which has generously been providing scholarships for participants in the Assembly since its inception in the summer of 2006.

In addition, the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, with the leadership of Raja Hagelin, recently launched a campaign to make Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, available 'for any and every student' at Maharishi University of Management and Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment**.

Several weeks ago, Dr David Lynch announced the formation of a US$1 million scholarship fund to support this campaign. Dr Roth quoted headlines from some of the many press articles that appeared worldwide following Dr Lynch's announcement, for example: 'David Lynch Foundation provides $1 million in scholarships to learn to meditate and attend Maharishi University in Iowa'.

'This story went literally around the world many times,' he said. 'The Associated Press and United Press International news services picked it up, and it was in the International Herald Tribune, and went all over India, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and Asia—all positive press articles.' The news awakened a tremendous wave of interest in Transcendental Meditation, Dr Roth said, and together with the enthusiastic response of top American business leaders described in Part I, was an expression of a new level of openness and receptivity to Maharishi's programmes that Raja Hagelin's administration has been encountering in many areas.

An event that will contribute greatly to this rising momentum is the third annual David Lynch Weekend at Maharishi University of Management, to be held 25-28 April. Dr Roth said that a large focus of this year's weekend is to inspire the interest of visiting students who want to explore the frontiers of creativity, sustainability, and peace—'students who want enlightenment and who want to create invincibility for America'—to learn Transcendental Meditation, and apply to and attend M.U.M., Dr Roth said.

Future presentations will include more about all the recent publicity, and also new research on Transcendental Meditation.

Dr Roth also commented on recently returning to the International Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU, Holland, and the striking feeling of stability and strength he experienced from the presence there of Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam and all the Rajas and Ministers of the Global Country of World Peace, unfolding and bringing all of Maharishi's programmes to the world—'it's a tremendous feeling here every day, and radiating out to the world.'

* World renowned quantum physicist Dr John Hagelin is also Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.

** Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment is a Consciousness-Based K-12 school in Fairfield, Iowa, adjacent to the M.U.M. campus, in which all the students and faculty practise Transcendental Meditation; Upper School students have the opportunity to learn the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.
