On 7 February at MERU in Vlodrop, Holland, Dr John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America, and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace, opened the Global Memorial to Maharishi, broadcast to millions of viewers around the world by satellite and over the Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel. In Part III of this article Dr Hagelin speaks about Maharishi's influence in every field of life and knowledge.

At the end of Part II, Dr John Hagelin said 'It is our birthright to utilize the total potential of our God-given brains,' which is done through Maharishi's Vedic Science and technologies of consciousness, the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.

'The impact of that total brain functioning on education and on human potential, for example, is unprecedented,' Dr Hagelin continued. 'On business and success, and leadership, and management [it] is unprecedented. On human health the impact is unprecedented, because this fourth state of consciousness also corresponds—in the language of Dr Robert Keith Wallace and thousands of medical researchers—to a hypometabolic physiologic state, a fourth of consciousness, of restful alertness—profound physiological rest which rejuvenates the physiology totally, and eliminates the deleterious effects of stress on health.'

'Since the vast majority of illness is caused or complicated by stress, a technology of profound rest and elimination of stress has immediate, far-reaching ramifications for the whole field of health,' said Dr Hagelin, including marked reductions in every major category of disease; for the prevention of disease on a scientific basis; and for the treatment and cure of chronic diseases, from which, for example, in the US over a hundred million people suffer—and an estimated half of the global population suffer from one form of chronic illness or another.

'Chronic disease just means by definition, diseases for which modern medicine provides no cure and mostly no relief,' Dr Hagelin said. 'All of this [is] because the science of medicine prevalent in the world today has been so incomplete. Maharishi has made it complete.

'The science of medicine so far in the world has been so incomplete because it has been what we could call ''molecular medicine,'' based upon a very superficial level of physiological structure: the level of molecules, the level of pharmacology, the level of drugs'—and in trying to understand and treat the physiology at the pharmacological level where the body is enormously complex, with tens of thousands of biological, of organic compounds, organic molecules . . . .'

Now Maharishi has raised the science of physiology, the science of health, to the absolute science of health, which is Unified Field-based health. Maharishi has discovered the unified foundation to the diversified physiology in the Unified Field, confirmed by modern science, said Dr Hagelin.

And most important, Maharishi has introduced forty different treatment modalities including his Transcendental Meditation, to restore balance in the physiology; to restore balanced physiological functioning, and to prevent the growth of imbalances that ultimately erupt as disease.

'So in all fields of human knowledge—in the field of health, and the complete, modern revival of the science of health by Maharishi, by re-establishing Unified Field-based medicine which is Vedic medicine, the ancient science of Ayur Vedic medicine—Maharishi has achieved a complete renaissance in the field of preventative medicine—of natural medicine—to prevent disease and promote health.

'Maharishi has brought a complete revolution in the field of education: for total brain development, holistic knowledge and experience for the holistic development of the brain.

'He revived the ancient science of architecture: Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law.

'In agriculture: Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture for maximally nutritious life-supporting foods.

'Maharishi's Vedic Defence is preventative defence of sufficient power to produce invincibility, and national security for any nation, no matter how small.

'As we shall see today [in this Memorial], Maharishi's influence in the field of knowledge and the field of action, is unprecedented in this world,' said Dr Hagelin.

'The implications of Maharishi's revival of knowledge are only beginning to be felt in the world now that modern science has confirmed that the rise of peace and invincibility in the world is now irreversible on the strength of scientific research confirming the effectiveness of coherence creating groups of Yogic Flyers, with the scientifically established capability of transforming the trends of an entire nation.

'All of this we will go through briefly today, highlighting in brief some of Maharishi's multiple achievements, any one of which provides the foundation of the transformation of our world.'
