Dr Alarik Arenander*, Director of the Brain Research Institute at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, and his wife Dr Cynthia Arenander, recently reported on their six-week tour of India from early September through late October. They visited eight cities, making presentations to the great intellects, academics, and opinion-makers in India about Maharishi's Vedic Science and total brain development. The presentations included live brainwave demonstrations showing increased coherence of brainwave activity through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation Technique.
Speaking on the Maharishi Global Family Chat 30 October, Dr Alarik Arenander said that, traveling from city to city by train, car, and plane, they made about 75 presentations—which were received enthusiastically by people in government, education, corporations, Rotary clubs, nursing colleges, high tech universities, medical schools, hospitals, and all kinds of schools and colleges throughout the nation.
'Each one of our lectures centred on Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology . . . [as] that approach to life which could bring about total brain development,' he said. The presentations also highlighted Maharishi's programmes and what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's inspiration 'continues to do through his organization, especially in India. Maharishi allowed for scientific verification and restoration of the ancient Vedic tradition, which is such a valuable tool and a valuable approach to living fullness of life, enlightenment, and invincibility for [every] nation.'
Dr Arenander noted that everywhere they went, the audiences got 'so excited that finally there was some spiritual aspect coming into their life—and knowing that they could actually see in the live brain wave demonstration what was happening, just made it even more believable for them.'
Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme including Yogic Flying promote total brain functioning, the full creative potential of the human brain, and thus will create the leaders of tomorrow, Dr Arenander said. In his lectures he presented a vision of India—a beautiful land which is steeped in this whole structure of Veda—moving forward to be a world leader. India could lead the world in peace and harmony, under the principle that 'the world is my family'.
Global Good News will feature the continuation of Dr Arenander's talk in the coming days.
*Alarik Arenander, PhD, is also Director of Research at the Center for Leadership Performance, a division of Maharishi University of Management's Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy.
