26 August 2007
On 26 August 2007 The Copenhagen Post reported:
Denmark has proposed a new climate university that will specialize in research of Greenland's polar region, examining the causes and effects of climate change and suggesting ways it can be stopped. Results will be presented at the 2009 UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen.
Global Good News service views this news as a sign of rising positivity in the field of science, documenting the growth of life-supporting, evolutionary trends.
The Copenhagen Post reported, 'The Science Ministry has introduced its plan to create a climate research university on Greenland that will stand complete for the 2009 UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen.'
Helge Sander, the science minister, was quoted by The Copenhagen Post as saying, 'It is the government's ambition that Denmark has a leading research centre that focuses on the climate issue and global environmental problems. This is why we are establishing a climate university in Greenland—a place where the effects of climate change are occurring right outside their door.'
Experts from both Denmark and Greenland will review the proposal.
Denmark's Parliament will then review a logistics and financial plan from the Science Ministry.
