Once homeless, Iraq War veteran moves into unique new home

On 18 August 2017 The Associated Press reported: A homeless Iraq war veteran in California has a unique place to finally call home. Vernon Poling moved into an apartment made of shipping containers. The complex built for homeless veterans is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation. 'There's been a couple nights that I've been surprised I've slept so long,' Poling said.
