Vancouver sees record number of cyclists using separated bike lanes

On 27 August 2014 Vancouver Sun reported: Five years after it began a rapid expansion of separated bike lanes, Vancouver is seeing record number of cyclists use the facilities. Helped greatly by the hot summer weather, the city says use of cycling routes and separated bike lanes is up by as much as 21 per cent over the same period last year. The bike lane expansion program is part of the city's plans to be the greenest city in the world by 2020.
