Finland's human rights-based approach to development is founded on the idea that all humans are born free and equal, and it is their birthright to be treated with dignity. Therefore, all people have an equal right to influence and participate in the definition and implementation of development programmes. These words of Anne Saloranta, Finland's Charge d'Affaires, resonated over the premises of the Embassy of Finland when five Namibian partner organizations received a tremendous boost with funding of N$5.9 million through the Finnish Fund for Local Cooperation.
