Canada, U.S. agree to work together to improve Great Lakes water quality

On 7 September 2012 The Canadian Press reported: Canada and the United States are strengthening an international agreement on water quality in the Great Lakes. Canadian Environment Minister Peter Kent and Lisa Jackson, administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency, signed the updated deal in a brief ceremony in Washington on 7 September. The amendments address problems with invasive aquatic species, habitat degradation, and the effects of climate change.
