MUM webcast features 'Conversations' with His Excellency Thakur S Powdyel, former Minister of Education, Bhutan

Maharishi University of Management is hosting, this week and next, a series of 'Conversations' with His Excellency Thakur S Powdyel, former Minister of Education of the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan (2008-2013), on the MUM campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
His Excellency instituted the policy of Gross National Happiness into the education system. He is a promoter of educational integrity, academic excellence, Green schools, good practice, and national self-respect.
He joins the MUM community for two Monday evenings to discuss the intersection among sustainability, education, and public policy. Both events will be webcast live via MUMTV.

Gross National Happiness: Converting Theory into Practice This conversation will include Dr. John Ikerd, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Economics, University of Missouri (Columbia). Prof. Ikerd received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri. He spent thirty years teaching at the college level; since retiring in 2000, he spends his time writing and speaking on sustainability with an emphasis on economics and agriculture. His books include Essentials of Economic Sustainability and Sustainable Capitalism.
