During a visit to Uganda, Dr Ashley Deans,* Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, found an enthusiastic response among university students, medical students, and the general public to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes for schools. Dr Deans described his autumn 2010 visit in a recent report.
On his tour Dr Deans visited a major university in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. He addressed a large group of students, all of whom were very attentive and interested in Consciousness-Based Education. Most notably, the President of the Student Council at the university told Dr Deans he would do everything he could to introduce the Transcendental Meditation Programme at the institution.
Dr Deans also visited the medical college in Kampala, where students were very receptive to his lecture on Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care.
Finally, during his stay Dr Deans also helped further plans to introduce Transcendental Meditation in a Kampala orphanage, and delivered a well-received public lecture to 300 people in the city.
