The article features renowned entrepreneur, music mogul, and philanthropist Russell Simmons, who has also long encouraged social and political involvement in urban areas.

In a recent video presentation Mr Simmons describes the initiative of the David Lynch Foundation to teach Transcendental Meditation to one million at risk students.

He explained that the experience of deep silence and 'stillness' during Transcendental Meditation gives children 'an inner strength that allows you to use those disciplines'—math, science, and other areas of knowledge—'in a way that will benefit yourself and others.

'Our children are our future,' Mr Simmons said. 'They desperately need us to put meditation in their schools. The research is everywhere. The proof is everywhere.'
