Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, recently completed a two-week tour of Great Britain during which he met with principals and teachers, presenting benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme for schools.
On his presentation tour, Dr Deans visited many cities, including Exeter, Bristol, Skelmersdale, Brighton, London, Birmingham, and Suffolk. Every school leader among his audience was enthusiastic at the prospect of introducing Consciousness-Based Education, and now Transcendental Meditation Teachers throughout the nation are following up with these principals and teachers to take the next step in implementing the programme.
Dr Deans noticed an increased receptivity to Consciousness-Based Education during his tour, in contrast to previous years. This new attitude was reflected at a university in Bristol, where many students dropped by an informational booth on Transcendental Meditation that was set up in conjunction with Dr Deans' lecture. Consequently, nearly half of those students attended the ensuing presentation, with many already signed up to learn the technique.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has emphasized the importance of introducing Transcendental Meditation in schools, since this is an ideal way to ultimately build groups of Yogic Flyers who will practise together on a consistent basis. This, in turn, will help nations rise to invincibility.
Dr Deans plans to return to Great Britain early in 2011, when he will visit all of the country's top secondary schools systematically.
