Young Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme recently resolved to establish the second generation of Students' International Meditation Society* (SIMS 2.0), an organization which will help bring Transcendental Meditation to youth, as well as encourage more young people to become qualified to teach the technique themselves.
SIMS 2.0 will be working closely with Global Country of World Peace leaders, the David Lynch Foundation, David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV), and IamU, to create opportunities for young people to work towards becoming Transcendental Meditation Teachers. Such opportunities will include internships and phases of TM Teacher Training built into degree programmes at Maharishi University of Management—such as those in the field of business or education.
'Right now, there is a great momentum for the widespread adoption of Transcendental Meditation and all of Maharishi's programmes among the leadership of society and the next generation of society—students and young people,' said Dr Robert Roth, Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the US. 'Our ultimate goal is to train 10,000 new Transcendental Meditation Teachers within the next 10 years,' he concluded.
Dr Roth's presentation was featured on the 4 August Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.
* The original SIMS was founded in the 1960s under the inspiration of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace.
