The greatest achievements in the field of education this year have been accomplished by its outstanding leaders, including Dr Girish Varma* in India; Raja Jose Luis Alvarez in Latin America; and Raja John Hagelin** and Dr David Lynch in the United States—who have brought the benefits of Consciousness-Based Education programmes to more than 200,000 students.
This praise came from Dr Volker Schanbacher, Minister of Education of the Global Country of World Peace, presenting achievements of his Ministry at the recent global Guru Purnima Assembly in MERU, Holland.
Dr Schanbacher said that Dr Ashley Deans, Deputy Minister of Education, who received from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi the title global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, has given many very successful presentations to educational institutions in many parts of the world.
'It is very inspiring to hear how educators now really appreciate Dr Deans' presentations and are eager to implement Consciousness-Based Education,' he said. 'It shows that there is a very clear, positive change in the collective consciousness, and it is a very important step to now implement Consciousness-Based Education in all the 192 countries around the world.'
The International Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education, headed by Dr Susie Dillbeck, has prepared a great variety of materials and courses that are very valuable for establishing and running Consciousness-Based Education programmes at educational institutions: for example, a one day seminar and comprehensive package of materials for starting a Consciousness-Based school.
Dr Marcia Murphy, head of the university group of this Foundation, has prepared detailed course descriptions of the entire curriculum of the Invincible Nation University, and is currently working on the selection and preparation of DVDs for these courses.
The school division of this Foundation, directed by Dr Laura Ticciati, has prepared various materials for implementing Consciousness-Based Education in high schools, including a new faculty development programme.
Global Good News will feature a second article about the achievements of the Ministry of Education of the Global Country of World Peace in the coming days.
