Two schools in England introducing Consciousness-Based Education

Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, recently spoke about the latest developments in two schools in Manchester, England whose head teachers are introducing Consciousness-Based Education to their students and staff.

Raja Peter said that in a previous Global Family Chat he had mentioned a school in the north of England, in the Manchester area. There have now been three courses conducted in this school for teachers and pupils to practise Transcendental Meditation.

'The programme is going extremely well, and one indication is that the school has now been given national status as a centre of academic excellence,' Raja Peter said. 'The head teacher is absolutely delighted by this. It means that the school is now noted as a flagship school, which means they guide other schools.'

The head teacher has been going to the Maharishi Golden Dome in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, to meditate with Teachers and practitioners of Transcendental Meditation there, and she would like to learn the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme.

She especially wants to recommend to all the schools for which hers is now the flagship school, to introduce Consciousness-Based Education and Transcendental Meditation. 'So this is a wonderful example of how this programme just rolls step by step from one initiative to another,' said Raja Peter.

He reported that the head teacher of another school—a church school also in the Greater Manchester area—is very keen and has signed up for the programme to start there after the summer. 'In September the teaching of Transcendental Meditation will be starting in that school.'

Raja Peter said that now it seems to be so easy to go and meet a head teacher. They don't have a lot of time, so maybe it is possible to only have 20 minutes with them, but the Teachers of Transcendental Meditation take the brochures about Consciousness-Based Education and use the power point slides that Dr Ashley Deans*, Director of Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, has provided. After twenty minutes the head teacher is convinced and would like to introduce it.

'So with Maharishi's blessings and the perfection of the knowledge we have now, this can happen anywhere,' Raja Peter said.

* Dr Deans is also National Director for Education of the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, and author of the recently published book about Maharishi School and Consciousness-Based Education, A Record of Excellence.
