Dr Howard Settle addresses the Celebration of the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility, Guru Purnima, 29 July 2007

At the Inauguration of the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility by Vedic Pandits on the campus of Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, Dr Howard Settle addressed an audience of 1,000 guests, which included the faculty and students of MUM, many teachers and practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and the participants in the Invincible America Assembly from the United States and around the world.

Dr Howard Settle, co-founder with Dr Alice Settle of the Howard and Alice Settle Foundation for an Invincible America, said it was an extraordinary honour for him and his wife to be included in the Guru Purnima celebration to inaugurate the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility.

Dr Settle said that he would like to reflect for a moment on what we are celebrating this Guru Purnima. 'We have all been supremely blessed to receive a technique so powerful, that with a few minutes of practice we can experience the ultimate source of all creation. Through the Transcendental Meditation Technique, its advanced techniques, and the TM-Sidhi Programme, including our Yogic Flying, we have the miraculous technique to experience pure consciousness, the field of all possibilities. This is the Unified Field as described by Dr Hagelin, and it is also the settled state of our own pure awareness.

'What is remarkable about this infinite blessing, is the utter simplicity of the techniques,' Dr Settle said, 'so natural and so simple that it defies imagination that the results can be so profound. By quietly sitting during [our practice of the Transcendental Meditation Programme] we are able to float in the peace of pure bliss, the ultimate source of creation, and from there, we emerge with more and more of the qualities of the infinite organizing power of this almighty field.

In other words, we do not leave it all behind when we come out of [meditation], we become more and more capable of sustaining the thoughts and actions that will fulfill our lives in the relative world in which we live. This blessing alone is worthy of grand celebrations, but fortunately for us, there is more that we have been given.

'When we emerge from the field of all possibilities as our individual consciousness, we notice the extraordinary diversity of creation. There are so many individuals,' said Dr Settle. 'There is an infinite variety of particles, atoms, molecules, extending to the planets, and billions of galaxies spreading in every direction. This diversity gives rise to complexity.

'As individuals, we have a relationship with everything in the manifest creation, and in order to manage our lives, to achieve our goals, and to fulfill our aspirations, we must manage this infinite range of relationships in such a way that any action we take must simultaneously be beneficial to every particle in the universe.

'It would seem to be an impossible task to ensure that the relationship we have with one expression of the manifest universe is compatible with, and uplifting to, every other expression of the manifest universe. In the world today, we see how chaotic life can become, if these relationships are not managed properly. There are competing desires, and a myriad of influences that can throw you off track,' said Dr Settle.

'Even with the power of our Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programme, one must still be able to project one's desires with enough force and skill to accomplish the goal. For this purpose, we have received yet another blessing, and here I am speaking of the technology of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the power of Vastu.

'With this extraordinary technology, the infinite organizing power of pure consciousness can be captured, as it were, in the buildings where we live and work. We gain protection from the chaotic influences of the relative. The Unified Field is lively 24 hours a day in Vastu, and our thoughts and actions can be projected with clarity and force, and yet these thoughts and actions uplift and support every aspect of creation.

'Vastu is a physical manifestation,' Dr Settle said, 'but it contains pure consciousness. Vastu protects us, and nourishes us, and it is one of the incredible technologies that allows us to manage the relationships between our individual consciousness, and the infinite diversity of the manifest creation.

'Just by constructing our homes, offices, and schools in accordance with the principles of Sthapatya Veda, 70% of the problems that one must face from the influences of the environment can be managed automatically. This is truly remarkable technology, and an extraordinary blessing of the infinite wisdom given to us from the tradition of Vedic Masters.

'Even with the gifts of pure consciousness brought to us through the Transcendental Meditation technique and the TM-Sidhi Programme, including our Yogic Flying, and the capacity to project our thoughts and actions through the protection of Sthapatya Veda, there is yet another blessing for which we are celebrating today.

'We know that through the law of action and reaction, there is the absolute principle of 'As you sow, so shall you reap', and therefore, there is the matter of all of our past thoughts and actions that must also be managed. These influences are like the eddies and currents in the ocean, that can force our ship of life off course, and prevent us from achieving our goals.

'It is impossible to imagine the complexity of these influences, and any intellectual attempt to manage the ocean of Karma [action] is fruitless. But fortunately, we have been given the blessing of Maharishi Jyotish and Yagya to manage this infinite complexity of influences arising from our past actions. Through Yagya, we can mitigate the harmful influences and magnify the positive influences.

'Again, it is difficult to imagine the power of Yagya,' said Dr Settle, 'and yet we have available to us this technology that can manage the influences of all of our past actions. We have been given other profound gifts, such as Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health , which offers us health, strength, and vitality.

'We have experienced the benefits of other Vedic technologies, certainly all of the Veda has been enlivened. But the three Vedic technologies of consciousness—Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi Programme, including our Yogic Flying, Sthapatya Veda, and Yagya, and I have heard these referred to as Manas Shanti, Vastu Shanti, and Graha Shanti. These three, in conjunction with one another, have opened the door to the Absolute, to the bliss of pure consciousness, and they have allowed us to project the infinite organizing power of pure consciousness into the creation in order to fulfill our desires.

Dr Settle continued: 'What is remarkable about these techniques is that they are all effortless from our side. They produce results automatically, and they are powerful beyond comprehension. Alice and I have used these three technologies of consciousness to build our Foundation, and perhaps this can serve as a demonstration of the power of these infinite gifts on an individual level. But the more profound demonstration of the almighty power of these Vedic technologies, is this Invincible America Assembly itself.

'If given the task to create invincibility for a nation as large and complex as the US, the task would seem impossible. Our government has spent trillions of dollars on defence only to face the stark reality that these efforts are futile; and yet, with only 2,000 participants in a small town in Iowa, practising the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme in Vastu, and with 1000 Vedic Pandits performing Yagyas each day, we can offer the nation permanent invincibility.

'Within a few weeks, or perhaps a few months, we will have the thousand Vedic Pandits in Fairfield, which will bring the course numbers to over 2,000. And when that glorious day comes, the USA will enjoy invincibility. Soon thereafter, there will be 8,000, then 16,000, then 24,000 Vedic Pandits performing Yagyas in the Brahmasthan [auspicious centre point] of India. Soon, every nation in the world will have its own invincibility course. And using these precious Vedic technologies, life on earth will be lived in heavenly bliss from the level of pure consciousness.

'We are on the threshold of changing the destiny of mankind forever,' said Dr Settle. 'All of this has emerged from the profound silence and pure consciousness of one divine being wandering the jungles of India. What we are celebrating today is the victory of the Guru. The 200% victory of Guru Dev*.

'Through the grace of Guru Dev we have been given the infinite wisdom and divine guidance of Maharishi who has established the Veda, and made the profound Vedic technologies available to us as individuals, and to the world as a whole. The victory of Guru Dev is complete in that it is an absolute 100% spiritual victory.

'The reality of the unity of all things. . . is the ultimate spiritual achievement, and this number one experience is the experience of many of the course participants on this Invincible America Course. Simultaneously, there is the 100% relative victory. Nations can be invincible. Individuals can accomplish anything, because the field of all possibilities has been opened to them through the grace of Guru Dev. This is the profound reality we are celebrating today.

'Today on this Guru Purnima 2007, Alice and I are honoured and profoundly blessed, to be able to offer to the lotus feet of Guru Dev, that which we have been given. Our offering to Guru Dev, is the Howard and Alice Settle Foundation for an Invincible America, and we say with deepest appreciation and deepest devotion, all glory to Guru Dev.
