Maharishi University of Enlightenment commencement highlights university education for ladies

On Thursday, 19 July 2007, Maharishi University of Enlightenment (MUE) conducted its second commencement during a special live global broadcast on the Maharishi Channel from Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, USA; Meru, Holland; and other locations around the world. The ceremonies also featured a global celebration of Consciousness-Based Education for Mothers in Every Generation.
In her opening remarks, speaking from Maharishi Vedic City, the President of the university expressed her 'honor and great pleasure to welcome our whole global family to share with us the celebration of the Second Commencement of Maharishi University of Enlightenment, the first ladies' Vedic University authorized to grant BA, MA, and PhD degrees in Maharishi Vedic Science, the science of consciousness.
'In our new home here in Maharishi Vedic City, Maharishi University of Enlightenment has been authorized to grant degrees by the City Council as the city's university. Today we will be conferring degrees on seven graduates, as well as awarding six honorary degrees.
'As our name makes clear, Maharishi University of Enlightenment was founded in 1998 to provide ladies with a university education that develops enlightenment—total knowledge of Natural Law.
'Enlightenment fulfils the highest goal of education—unfoldment of the full potential of human consciousness, total brain functioning.'
The President also explained that 'for the past seven years, Maharishi University of Enlightenment has been offering degree programs for the members of a full-time consciousness-creating group. Now we are expanding our mission to include the mothers and future mothers of society everywhere who want to develop enlightenment in themselves and invincibility in their nations.
'In order to give a sweet taste of the real fruit of the education offered at Maharishi University of Enlightenment', the President then invited each of the graduates to share a glimpse of her experiences of higher states of consciousness.
