On 27 September 2012 BBC News reported: Scotland's second Sistema orchestra has been given the go ahead in the Govanhill area of Glasgow. Big Noise Govanhill will follow the example of its sister orchestra in Stirling's Raploch area which was set up five years ago. Sistema Scotland is inspired by a pioneering system of orchestras working in some of the most deprived areas of Venezuela. The idea is that children learn confidence and discipline as well as music.
