Hundreds of historical artifacts returned to Afghanistan

On 21 July 2012 Good Afghan News reported: Earlier this week, it was announced that more than 800 items that were stolen and smuggled out of Afghanistan have been returned, with the help of the British Museum. The rare artifacts include a sculpture of Buddha, ivories dating back to the 1st century BC, as well as bronze age carvings, and Islamic coins. The Afghan government has confirmed that the cargo weighing more than two tonnes arrived safely in Kabul.
