Prime Minister Dr Bevan Morris, Raja Felix Kaegi, and other leaders of the Global Country of World Peace celebrated the Swiss National Day on 1 August.* Many historic achievements of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's worldwide Transcendental Meditation Programme organization took place in Switzerland, and particularly in Seelisberg, the beautiful location of the first International Capital.

Traditional Alpine horns ushered in the day's festivities in Seelisberg, followed by a warm welcome to the Prime Minister by a Swiss leader of the Global Country.

'Prime Minister-ji, it is a great joy to welcome you here—here where it is really Heaven on Earth, here where all the mountains are holy mountains, here where Maharishi said the Lake of Uri** is really the Valley of Peace,' said the leader.

Raja Felix Kaegi, Raja of Invincible Switzerland, spoke next. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi first came here in 1971, he said. He recounted many warm memories, including one occasion where Maharishi expressed that 'from this one place, if we are all coherent together, we can change the destiny of mankind', Raja Felix said.

'Now we see the dawn of this new world, the dawn of this new destiny . . . . That is what Maharishi has accomplished for the world,' he continued. We are witnessing a global transformation and a 'new fortunate destiny of mankind becoming a reality day by day', he said.

The celebration continued outdoors in the sunny gardens with traditional Swiss music and a banquet. The Flag of the Global Country of World Peace was also raised for the invincibility of Switzerland and the whole world.

In the coming days, Global Good News will feature the address of Prime Minister Dr Bevan Morris on this occasion.

*The video of the Swiss National Day celebration was featured on the 6 August Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.

**Seelisberg is located in the Canton of Uri. 'Seeli' means 'small lake'.
